تمساح الغريال بلغ عددها الان اقل من 240 و فى طريقها للانخفاض و يتواجد معظمها فى شبه القارة الهندية و سبب انخفاض عددها الى عمليات الصيد و يبلغ وزنها 350 رطلا و يصل طولها الى 7 امتار و يعتبر غذائه الاساسى على الاسماك و ذلك راجع الى فمه الدقيق الطويل
